The Writer’s Dilemma

Writing in this day and age, especially when it comes to science, is fraught with hazards. Like any other form of art, it often seems as if one is never quite reached the “zone” where the flow kicks in and you’re one with the universe. Conveying principles of science is exceptionally hazardous with the main challenge being the risk of not communicating complex ideas in and easy-t0-understand format. I happened to come across this essay on writing & thought I’d share it with anyone who’s interested.

I’ve done my share of science writing over the years and trust me…even with time and plenty of experience, it doesn’t get easier as the years pass…especially in a socio-political climate that’s hostile to any branch of science that challenges dearly held personal beliefs that have no evidence to support them.

And that’s the post for September, 2012

Cheers!
